Dennis studied various styles of martial arts for two decades prior to taking his first yoga class at age 40. He primarily practices the Ashtanga Primary Series, but he also practices modern vinyasa. He completed David Swenson’s Ashtanga Primary Series teacher training and also earned his 200-hour yoga certification with John Salisbury.
Dennis respects the philosophical foundation of Patañjali’s Yoga Sutras, but views human consciousness from a modern science perspective. He has taught psychology for 15 years and currently holds a residential faculty position at Scottsdale Community College. He earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Florida State University, a M.A. in education from the University of Illinois and is currently pursuing an M.A. in humanities (philosophy) at CSU-Dominguez Hills.
